Learning Disabilities Program

The Learning Disabilities Program (LDP) provides academic support to a select group of Northeastern University undergraduate students with learning disabilities and/or attention deficit disorders.

Students in the LDP meet with their learning specialist individually, in scheduled sessions that occur twice a week and last for one hour. The regular schedule of meetings allows for a proactive, collaborative approach that promotes students’ academic growth and achievement. The content of these meetings is determined by the student’s goals, learning profile, and coursework.

In-person support: Located on the Boston campus, the LDP offers an in-person model of support.  Accommodations and other disability-related supports are available on all Northeastern campuses, including Oakland, London, New York, and NUin sites.  For more information about these supports, please visit DAS Global Resources.

LDP application: The LDP application can be found here. Applications to the LDP are carefully evaluated to ensure that the model of support offered by the program is a good fit for the student’s learning needs; not every student who applies is accepted. To be considered for the LDP, students must first be admitted to Northeastern University. LDP staff do not contribute to Northeastern admissions decisions.

Program fees: The LDP fee is assessed each term for students who are participating in the program and enrolled in classes. Students are not charged while on co-op.  Information about the LDP fee and scholarships can be found here. Please note:  Accommodations for students with learning disabilities and/or attention deficit disorder are provided at no cost by Disability Access Services.

We encourage students and families to learn more about the Learning Disabilities Program and its services through the pages listed on the above navigation bar. In addition to these resources, prospective students and their families may contact us directly to schedule an information session with LDP staff.
